Summer Game Fest
In the wake of event cancelations due to Covid-19, including the high-profile announcement that E3 will not be taking place, Geoff Keighley and his team have taken up the baton and created Summer Game Fest. Acting as an aggregator of news as well as working with partners to release brand new information themselves, Summer Game Fest is a four month programme of events that kicks off with the May 7th edition of Inside Xbox and culminates with Opening Night Live ‘ONL’ on August 24th which will act as the ‘season finale’ to Summer Game Fest.
As he has previously done with E3 Colosseum, Geoff will be presenting a number of exclusive events as well as highlighting partners streams as with Inside Xbox. These events will cover everything for game reveals, to gameplay demos, to developer deep dive interviews. The first game reveal that Summer Game Fest will be breaking themselves is coming May 12th with more events promised to be added to their calendar over the coming weeks and months.
With Geoff being the prominent figure within the gaming industry that he is, being behind the extremely successful Game Awards, he has managed to partner with some of the biggest names in the business for the initial ‘phase 1’ of Summer Game Fest with more partners expected to join and take part before August.
A number of events have already been added to the Summer Game Fest schedule including Xbox Game Fest, Geoff Keighley ‘Sunrise #1’, EA Play and Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City Wire event on June 11th.
I will be covering the biggest and best news to come out of Summer Game Fest over the coming months so be sure to check back here regularly as well as follow my Twitter @NoggsBloggs and also make sure to follow @SummerGameFest for all their latest info drops.
