VR Updates
Bethesda has leaned into VR in a big way and at their show they announced two new experiences coming from Prey and Wolfenstien.
Prey’s VR game is called Typhon Hunter and Wolfenstien’s is Cyberpilot.
Skyrim: Very Special Edition
Skyrim has been a global phenomenon and Bethesda leaned into the joke that you can play it anywhere by showing off a tongue in cheek trailer for Skyrim playable on Alexa. This looked to be a joke but it seems you can actually interact with Alexa as shown in the trailer.
Fallout 76
Bethesda’s big showing at E3 this year was Fallout 76. The game was fully revealed as an online shared world experience where you can team up with friends but its not forced.
Fallout 76 will be a survival based game however if you die you wont loose your character or progression. It will feature base building and a map 4 times larger than Fallout 4’s.
You can also access nuclear weapons to completely wipe out oppositions and alter the map with the ‘fallout’.
Coming November 14th 2018 the game will also feature a BETA (Break it Early Test Application) that can be signed up to now.
Fallout 76 will also have a Special Edition at launch which includes a glow in the dark map and a wearable Power Armor Helmet.
Fallout Shelter
After the Fallout 76 announcements it was revealed that Fallout Shelter is coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch for free and is available now.
The Elder Scrolls Blades
Following on from the success of Fallout Shelter on mobile, Bethesda is bringing their most iconic franchise to mobile with The Elder Scrolls Blades.
This game is a hand crafted Elder Scrolls experience for mobile and features stunning graphics. The game will incorporate crafted and procedurally generated dungeons as well as open outside areas.
It is a first person RPG that will feature character and town customisation and even the ability to visit a friends town.
Playable in landscape and portrait on your phone the game is designed to be playable anywhere in any situation.
It will also be coming to as many platforms as possible including consoles and VR from mobile VR to high end experiences. What’s more these versions will all be crossplay, meaning you could potentially battle someone on your phone while they are in VR.
Coming this Fall the game available for preorder now.
Starfield
Bethesda closed their show with two big teases. The first was that they are working on a single player focused game in a brand new sci-fi world.
The long rumoured Starfield was confirmed to be real and apparently will use that title.
The Elder Scrolls VI
The announcement everyone was hoping for but was not expected happened when it was revealed that The Elder Scrolls VI is in development. Other than the short trailer tease nothing else was given but the fact it is happening sent fans home happy.
Bethesda had a great showing this year will a wide range of games. Which was your favourite announcement and will you be playing Fallout 76? Let me know in the comments.
