E3 Predictions 2018: EA Play
EA is scheduled to reveal their latest titles at EA Play on June 9th 2018 at 11am PT/ 7pm BST.
Here are 5 predictions as to what they might show.
FIFA 19 with official license for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
This might not sound that exciting at first glance but fans of the FIFA series have long wanted the famous European club tournaments in the series. With Pro Evolution Soccer’s 10 year license coming to an end this year it seems only natural that EA would snap up the exclusive rights for their game.
If it is revealed expect a flashy cinematic trailer showcasing all the new Champions League graphics and that famous sound track too.
Sports Sports Sports
EA’s sports devision is a massive part of their vision so expect a deep dive into not only FIFA but Madden and potentially other sports games too. It would be great to see EA branch out into a new sport too to add some new experiences to their established brands.
Dragon Age 4
Dragon Age: Inquisition released to critical reception in 2014 so it makes sense that a sequel would be in the works. With EA on the back foot after the controversy surrounding Battlefront II then this could also be a great way for them to get back into the good graces of fans.
Last year at E3, EA nearly stole the show when they debuted the trailer for BioWare’s latest game Anthem. They will be hoping to have the same reaction this year with an expected deeper look at the gameplay. The original trailer seemed to promise open environments and control over an ‘Iron Man’ like mech suit. If they can build on that promise and show more of the minute to minute gameplay they could very well live up to the hype.
Respawn’s Star Wars Game
Respawn is working on an action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe which is scheduled to be released by the 2020 fiscal year. With this in mind its likely that EA will want to give fans their first glimpse of what they have been working on especially with the reception that Battlefront II got and the disappointing news the Visceral’s game got cancelled.
Don’t expect to see any gameplay but a cinematic trailer is likely.
With less than a month to go until EA Play we wont have to wait long to find out what they have planned but until then let me know your predictions in the comments
