RUMOUR: Pokémon Switch games potentially revealed
Since Game Freak revealed they were working on a Pokémon RPG for the Nintendo Switch at last years E3, fans have speculated endlessly over what the game could end up being. Many have assumed it would be the next generation (gen 8) and many thought it could be a remake of Red and Blue, the original games.
Thanks to a series of potential leaks this week we may now have an idea over what they could be.
Emily Rodgers, and industry insider, stated in a blog post that Pokémon for the Nintendo Switch would be revealed before the end of may and will raise a few eyebrows.
Following her blog, 4Chan user Real Leaks, uploaded an alleged image of the title which will apparently be Pokémon Lets Go! Pikachu and Pokémon Lets Go! Eevee.
They also stated:
- Pokémon Yellow remakes
- Two versions of the game. Pikachu/Eevee
- Red and Blue will play a role in the story and be a rival for your character.
- Following Pokémon will return.
- HM’s still replaced with Pokémon as in Sun and Moon.
- Online has a hub for players.
- Pokémon GO integration.
- Catching Pokémon works like in Pokémon GO.
- New accessory to be released that works with Switch game and Pokémon GO.
- Announcing soon and released this year.
When taking all this information into account it seems we will be getting a remake/reimagining of Pokémon Yellow based around Pikachu and Eevee with Pokémon GO integration too.
These leaks got even more validity too when today, May 15th, the supposed names of the new games got registered domain names too.
A remake of one of the Kanto games makes a lot of sense given how Pokémon GO’s nostalgia of the original 150 Pokémon helped propel it to its success. That success also makes me believe that Game Freak could very well look to capitalise on that hype for their latest game even if that just involves some gesture based gameplay.
If the leaks are true it also sounds like we wont have to wait too long to see if they are indeed correct.
Emily Rogers stated they would be revealed before the end of May so we could see find out in the next week or two.
In the meantime how do you feel about these leaks and do these sound like the Pokémon games you were hoping for?
